About Manzanillo
Manzanillo is a special place. The Manzanillo-Gondaca reserve is my favorite hiking area on the Caribbean side, although the Cahuita National Park is fun too. There are plenty of inexpensive hotels in Cahuita and Puerto Viejo (surfer backpacker oriented hamlets).
Manzanillo lacks nightlife and is better described as a fishing village with family hiking, and fisherman oriented environments boasting excellent photo opportunities.
- Great secluded beach location on southern Caribbean side
- Rustic surroundings
- Dirt roads, great wildlife
- Jamaican style culture
- English widely spoken everywhere
- Dolphin tours
- River fishing
