Another name for Playa Flamingo is Playa Blanca. Sport fishing is huge here with an International tournament each year in May and June.
   The wide, pretty beaches are great for exploring, walking and sunning. Most of the land here is owned by North American expatriates. Wealthy Tico's frequent this area as well. Want to ride a horse on the beach?
   The town is situated on and near a steep hill with narrow streets bustling with activity. Nightlife here is minimal but banks, stores, restaurants, and other business activities are thriving. Many expensive villas sit on headlands around the beach areas, some with private coves.
   Flamingo beach is a great place for fishing excursions, sailing, diving trips to nearby islands, and watching the sun set.
