Playa Nosara, Garza, and Guiones are pictured here. These secluded nature beaches are perfect for relaxation, surfing and exploring. To get around and explore rent an ATV or a car to explore the many clean beautiful beaches in this area.

Another picture of Guiones, then Pelada and Rio Nosara. Surfing, tanning, and fun picnic's are fun daily events here. Swimming is best in tide pools found in Pelada and Nosara to eliminate the riptides common in the area. A large number of North American expatriates live here in the Beaches of Nosara development.

Surfing or frisbee anyone? These beaches aren't crowded and if you like it is easy to find one all your own. The road trip here is a bone jarring few hours. The Nosara airstrip is available from San Jose to be on the beach within an hour.

To reach Playa Ostional a small river must be forded. In rainy season ask the locals if it is passable. The Ostional National Wildlife Refuge, home of one of the world's most important turtle nesting hatcheries, is a great place to see wild nesting sea turtles from July through December (Aug-Sept optimum). Surfboard rentals and lessons are available in Guiones. Local hotels aren't the only lodging options. House rentals and apartments are available as well.
