Playa Conchal is one of my favorite beaches. Light tan sand (some would say white) and calm turquoise water makes this location ideal for snorkeling, kayaking, swimming, and other beach activities. The sand is composed of tiny crushed seashells surrounded by rocky headlands forming a broad bay area.
During dry season, especially January through February, monkey's frequent the beach areas and are found year round in surrounding areas.

From the north, Conchal is reached via Brasilito, a small quiet hamlet. Turn left right after this bridge. Conchal is reached by trekking across the beach, fording a small river and finally up and over a small but steep and rocky hill. A 4 wheel drive vehicle is required. The reward is worth the short trip. During tourist season, Conchal can be quite busy but many months of the year this is a beautiful secluded beach.

ATV rentals and many water sport activities are available here. The area includes shady areas for picnic's and excellent flat beach for exploring or just relaxation. What an ideal place for a calm beach vacation!

Behind the beach the mega resort Paradisus Playa Conchal dominates the inland territories. Paradisus provides access to their facilities without room rental for a fee for those interested. I doubt they get many takers simply because of the beauty of the beach area. The golf course within the facility is an 18 hole championship course crafted by Robert Trent Jones Jr.
