Costa Rica Hotels: Costa Rica Beaches: Costa Rica Surfing    Playa Langosta is just south of Tamarindo separated by a headland. The beach includes nesting sea turtles and other wildlife including monkey's playing in the trees. Surfing is commonplace here but includes reefy shore breaks. Riptides are found in the surf, so swimming is best in tidepools.
   A short 5 minute ride is required from Tamarindo to reach the northern portion of this Costa Rica beach. This beach butts up to Hacienda Pinilla, a former cattle ranch now an upscale residential resort community. This beach, while not secluded, is generally much less crowded than Tamarindo.
   From the northern portion of the beach a small estuary must be crossed to explore the southern portion of the beach. One of the first megaresorts in the Tamarindo area is the Barcelo Playa Langosta Resort and Casino. Playa Langosta also includes numerous other lodging options to play on the fringe of Tamarindo's bussle.
