Costa Rica Hotels: Costa Rica Beaches: Costa Rica Surfing    Playa Ventanas is a secluded beach just north of Playa Grande, which is just north of Tamarindo. Don't like the crowds in Tamarindo? Take the $.80 five minute boat ride from Tamarindo to Grande. Grande is known as a turtle nesting area and for great surfing. Fewer crowds here. If you don't mind walking long distances then keep walking north to the cape and through a little dry forest trail and you will find the little area where these secluded beach pictures were taken.
   Traveling by ground from Tamarindo, Playa Grande is a 45 minute pot hole filled journey. The boat ride is the way to go here if staying in Tamarindo. This guy in the middle picture is watching me carefully. The final picture is a view of Playa Grande to the south.
   Bring water, snacks, and sunscreen with you so you can enjoy this secluded nature beach in Costa Rica. Oh, a camera might be good too! Playa Ventanas means windows beach.
