Playas del Coco is a small cove containing the town of Coco which is a small fishing village that has grown into a tourist area containing shopping and tourist oriented amenities, banks, and well stocked food stores. Fishing and sailboats are docked in the bay surrounded by small islands.
  
Playas del Coco is a 2k cove with gray colored sand about 35k from Liberia. Coco is a fishing village and also provides tourists a place for nightlife featuring numerous sodas or restaurants and hotel choices. The beach is a popular weekend and holiday retreat for Tico's.
  
The town lies just off the beach with small rolling hills on either side. The beach is flat and easy to walk. Monkey's stay away from here because of recent construction but can be found a short distance away for nature hiking. The west side of Coco is where the fishing village is located with the tourist section to the east. Coco is a short distance south of Playa Hermosa and just north of Playa Ocotal.
  
Coco has food stores, banks, restaurants, hotels, and Internet cafe's along the main road within easy walking distance from the beach. Many tourists choose Playa Hermosa or Playa Ocotal and visit Playas del Coco for nightlife, shopping, and banking.
