The best places to vacation in Costa Rica for romance
Yeah, there are hundreds of hotels in Costa Rica. Most of them include honeymoon packages and extra service and consider themselves romantic hotels.
I have narrowed my choices down to three romantic places in Costa Rica based upon my personal experiences, and feedback from visitors.
1 The best place to vacation in Costa Rica for a small intimate romantic experience is, in my opinion, Casa Chameleon in the southern tip of the Nicoya peninsula in Mal Pais. 2 Don't like the beach? Peace Lodge near the Poas volcano in the La Paz waterfall gardens is an enchanting place. It is more expensive than Casa Chameleon but boasts many nice features and beautiful garden surroundings, waterfalls, and exquisite nature walks. The 1200 square feet villa for honeymooners features three fireplaces and great ambiance. More reviews.
3 The Amazon of Costa Rica, Corcovado, is a true gem. I have been surprised at the number of people that choose to honeymoon in this area since it has little infrastructure and is a truly "back to nature" habitat. That said, Lapa Rios at the southern tip of the Osa peninsula provides a fantastic place to enjoy a genuine eco-lodge. More reviews.
But what about the BIG all inclusive resort in Costa Rica?
To some, of all the romantic places in Costa Rica, the huge all inclusive resorts are the ticket. I have left them out of my lineup because I just don't think they provide an intimate experience and the opportunity to experience the culture of Costa Rica.
